On the topic of minimalist designs, Flaticon is a website that provides free flat icons that is very suitable to be used in minimalist designs. I find myself using this website often when designing in a minimalist theme as the website provides over 16000 free icons. The icons provided from this website are also vector based, meaning that no matter how much you scale these icons, there will never lose quality.
How to use:
- To find an icon, just type in what you are looking for in the search bar and press "Enter".
- Select the icon you want, hover your cursor over it and click on the "eye" button.
- It will then lead you to another page, where you can select what file type you want to download the icon as. The file types available for your choosing are .png, .svg, .psd and .eps.
- After choosing the file type of your liking, you can then select the dimensions and colour you want to download the icon in.
- After choosing the dimensions, a popup will appear. All you have to do is click on "Free Download" and the icon will be downloaded to your download folder.

There is also an option for you to download a plugin for your Adobe softwares. The advantage of getting the plugin is that, you can directly search and use an icon in your Adobe softwares instead of going to the website and downloading it from there. To learn more about that, click here.
