In the post before this, we were talking about Low Poly designs. As discussed in the last post, Some of the most common tool to achieve the low poly look are:
- Adobe Photoshop
- Cinema 4D
- Blender
- Adobe Illustrator
But there is a quicker though not as accurate to achieve the low poly effect.
Triangulator is a web based app that randomly generate the low poly effect through Delaunay Trianglulation. To use this app, simply download it here.
Once it has been downloaded, open downloaded folder. There will be several files contained in the folder, open the file named "index.html" using your browser. I find that this app works best in Google Chrome.
Once you have open the app, simply drop in your bitmap image into the designated area labeled "Drop your bitmap here". Once that is done, it will lead you to another page.
On the top, you will see something like this:
You should now see your picture triangulated. Keep on clicking on the same button till you have achieved your desired effect.
Once done, simply click on the Export button and choose where you want to save your file and it shall be downloaded there.
In case you prefer a video explanation on how to use Triangulator, here's a video provided by the creator:
That will be all for this post, do leave a comment on what I should cover next or any of your thoughts about this post. Thanks for reading and have a nice day!
